Trial pits are either hand dug or mechanically excavated to expose foundations, gain soil samples or for other reasons as specified. For example, we can record the dimensions of existing foundations and make notes of the ground conditions including the identification of soil types.
Operatives are either supervised on site by the construction professional or report back with trial pit logs and soil samples. All trial pit logs and soil sampling is completed in accordance with BRE Digest 381 and BRE Digest 383. Soil samples can be hand delivered or couriered if required.
